Education at COT
Chicago Opera Theater believes that the future resides in giving students the opportunity to experience opera as active, generative artists themselves so that opera becomes their art form, rather than something shown to them from the outside. Through Opera for All, professional opera artists in 3rd through 8th grade classrooms lead students to create, design, and perform their own operas over the course of a school year. COT for Teens is a year-long program through which high school students are paid for their artistry in after-school settings to express issues relevant to their lives through the medium of opera.
