COT Director of Education & Outreach, Kara Kane, was Principal for a Day at Opera for All partner school Von Humboldt Elementary.
COT’s Opera for All announces 2007-2008 school-year focus on John Adams’ opera A Flowering Tree. Over 450 elementary students will explore the Asian Indian culture highlighted in this south Indian folktale. In addition to demystifying opera, other themes include: transformation, storytelling, and creation and the composer.

2007-2008 Opera for All Season Kicked-off with a cultural workshop with the Indo-American Heritage Museum. Dorothie Shah and Lakshmi Menon from IAHM provided insight into the Chicago Indo-American community and education materials for our Teaching Fellows to take to our partner schools.
