CHICAGO OPERA THEATER ANNOUNCES ITS 2004
ANDREW PATNER LECTURE SERIE

(Chicago, Ill.) Chicago Opera Theater is pleased to announce its 2004 Andrew Patner Lecture Series beginning February 5th at the Chicago Cultural Center.  These interesting and interactive lectures will bring greater depth of understanding and enjoyment to each of the COT operas this season.

Andrew Patner is a critic-at-large for 98.7 WFMT, Chicago's classical music radio station and a contributing critic for the Chicago Sun-Times.  His engaging lecture style encourages audience participation as he focuses on the ideas behind the operas as well as overviews of the composers.

Patner’s popular Chicago Opera Theater series, now in its third year, is expanding to include  appearances by COT young artists singing excerpts from the featured opera.  This unique opportunity to hear a live performance of opera highlights before attending the performance will be a must-attend for anyone hoping to get the most from their opera-going experience.

The series takes place on Thursdays at 12:15 pm, making it perfect for a refreshing lunch hour break.  All lectures are conveniently located  in the lovely 5th floor East Lecture Room of the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington Street), overlooking Millennium Park and the new Harris Theater for Music and Dance (COT’s new, state-of-the-art performance venue).
