Featuring Louise Rogan and Leila Bowie

Louise Rogan, British mezzo-soprano is a former Young Artist with Chicago Opera Theater and a Chicago favorite. As a Young Artist with Chicago Opera Theater, she covered the roles of Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte) and Masha (Moscow, Cheryomushki). She spent the 2014 season with Opera Colorado as a Young Artist in residency. During that time, she performed Giovanna/Il Paggio (Rigoletto), Mercédès (Carmen) and the title role in Carmen. Other Chicago highlights include understudying Lydia in the world premiere of Second Nature with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and performing the role on tour with Lyric's Opera In The Neighborhoods. In 2017, Louise looks forward to her debut with the Chicago Sinfonietta at Chicago Symphony Center, a return to her alma mater for a recital with Scott Gilmore and spending her summer with Central City Opera as a Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Apprentice Artist.

Leila Bowie, soprano, calls Chicago home. She made her Orchestra Hall debut as a soloist in “Beyond the Score: Strauss’ Ein Heldenleben” with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, appeared as First Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute with Chicago Opera Theater and is a recipient of the Lynne Harvey Music Scholarship from the Musicians Club of Women.  She performed as a Young Artist with Chicago Opera Theater for two seasons. Her recent operatic performances have included the role of Pamina in Mozart’s The Magic Flute with Sugar Creek Opera, Konstanze in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail and La Contessa in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro for Candid Concert Opera, Nérine in Charpentier’s Médée and the cover of Schumann’s Frauenliebe und Leben for Chicago Opera Theater, Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan Tutte for the Green Mountain Opera Festival in Vermont, and Beth in Adamo’s Little Women for Sugar Creek Symphony
