A fresh take on a Mozart favorite, thanks to a trio of young stars hand picked by COT General Director Brian Dickie. Last seen in Chicago 20 years ago, the opera is a story of passion, revenge, and forgiveness--the perfect subjects for virtuoso arias, as Mozart well knew. Hear Curtis-trained tenor Dominic Armstrong star as Emperor Tito, and fellow Curtis grad and Illinois native Amanda Majeski sing the role of the cunning Vitellia. Croatian mezzo-soprano Renata Pokupic, who has taken the London and Paris music worlds by storm in recent years, will perform as Sesto and sing the famous “Parto, parto” aria.
