Auditions

The Program is open to young singers who are completing their vocal studies and ready to embark upon a career. Applicants must be American citizens, hold a green card, or have the right to work in the U.S. as part of advanced musical training at a recognized educational institution. There are no age restrictions.

Entry to the Chicago Opera Theater Young Artists Program is by audition. General Director Brian Dickie will hear auditions in Chicago and New York City this fall.

There is no application or audition fee, and a pianist will be provided by Chicago Opera Theater. Any singer who wishes to hire his or her own pianist is, of course, welcome to do so.

Members of the Program must be available to start March 17, 2012. All Young Artists are contracted through AGMA and paid a standard weekly stipend for the duration of the engagement period.

If you would like to apply for the 2012 Young Artists Program please complete the Artist Information Form below and email it with your headshot, resume and two (2) mp3 recordings (or a website address that includes recordings) to: cotauditions@gmail.com.
