What's Next at COT?

The next opera in COT's season of adventure is Lucio Silla written by 16-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Young Mozart's piece tells the dramatic triangle of love and lust between Lucio Silla, dictator of Rome, Giunia, the daughter of his enemy Caius Marius, and Giuni's love not for Lucio, but for the exiled senator Cecilio.

Mozart Chicago Premiere

Over 243 years ago a very young Mozart made the premiere of his 8th opera, Lucio Silla. Almost two and a half centuries later, the piece is finally taking its turn at a Chicago Premiere. First performed on December 26, 1772 at the Teatro Regio Ducal in Milan, you will now be able to see it in Chicago for the very first time September 26th - October 4th at COT.
