OPERA FOR ALL

Chicago Opera Theater believes that the future resides in giving students the opportunity to experience opera as active, generative artists – so opera becomes their art form.

Opera for All (OFA) is COT’s elementary program for Chicago Public School students. Opera for All inspires students to understand the art by participating in it, both in production and in performance.

During OFA sessions, Teaching Artists guide each classroom through the stages of creating, producing, and performing their own musical shows. In addition to script writing, composing, painting, dancing, and performing, students are able to attend a professional opera performance.

We’re so excited to be back with our students and on stage!

When CPS students were sent home due to COVID-19 precautions, our dedicated teaching artists pivoted on a dime, creating educational experiences to connect students to Opera at Home.
